Medical Certificate Verification for Foreign Employment
The Sri Lanka Medical Council provides verification of Medical Certificates issued to the Foreign Ministry for Foreign Employment.

No Appointment Needed — you don't need to schedule a prior appointment.
Operating Hours — verification services are available on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Location — please visit the SLMC reception counter for verification.
Your Medical Certificate — ensure it has the doctor's official seal and name, with the SLMC registration number visible.
Your Passport — this is required for identification purposes.
Cash payments are NOT accepted.
All payments for verification services can be made using a debit or credit card at the SLMC reception counter.
Verification of Registration of Practitioners Prior to Employment
The Sri Lanka Medical Council provides written verification of a practitioner's registration status, requested by employers and regulatory authorities prior to employment.
Need to apply for a registration verification? Here's how it works.
Complete the application with your registration category, full name, registration number, email address, and contact telephone number — along with the name and address of the verification agency requesting the check, and a description of the attached documents.
Attach a duly furnished application and the certificate issued by SLMC to the practitioner.
Please follow the date format dd/mm/yyyy throughout the application.
Direct Deposit — deposit to the bank and hand the Green Slip over to the SLMC reception counter, or send it by post (required for auditing).
Online Transfer — attach the downloaded payment slip from your bank.
Cash Deposit Machine — the original thermal slip is essential.
Important — enter your NIC number and the payment category "Verif." as the transaction reference (e.g. 808590391V-Veri). Payments without this reference will be rejected.
Fee: Rs. 3,500.00 per single verification, for Sri Lankan citizens registered under SLMC.
